24 Hours In Milano

Quick shopping stop and easy lunch in one of narrow alleyways with some sightseeing and a lot of Gelato! This is Milano and I welcome you in my 24 hours of Milano intinerary.

Admire Duomo Di Milano

At 108 meters tall, Milan’s cathedral is the largest church in Italy and the second-largest in Europe. It’s an amazing piece of architecture and it’s absolutely mind-blowing. You can head into the cathedral to explore and enjoy the view from the rooftop or you can just admire this Milanese miracle from the outside and take some photos. You can expect this place to be crowded as it’s a very popular touristic spot. We had luck and there were not as many people as expected, so it was a nice and easy walk around the cathedral.

Visit Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

For a great shopping experience, you should visit the stunning Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. In there you can find all the top luxury Italian shops such as Gucci, Armani, and Prada. For a coffee break, you can sit in one of the lovely cafes that Galleria is offering.

Even if shopping is not your cup of tea, it’s definitely worth visiting this Italy’s oldest active shopping gallery.

Enjoy an Italian lunch

After all the sightseeing and wandering around it was time for lunch. We decided to find a lovely restaurant near Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle and we were very lucky to find the perfect one in a very short time. There is a lot of cafes and restaurants around that has nice shopfronts; click here to see more, so you would be able to find a nice spot that will suit you. While in Italy pasta is a must! I was amazed by fresh pasta with chili tomato sauce. We also tried chicken and for the sweet end their famous cheesecake. I recommend stopping by Da Regina 1985 if you are looking for a romantic, quiet place to have a nice meal.

Take a walk to Castello Sforzesco

Treat yourself with a cocktail

Or join in for aperitivo. It’s a Milanese after-work routine starting after 5 pm. Aperitivo is ordering a drink and getting small plates and appetizers for free. It’s most known in Navigli district. We did not get a chance to try it out, but we definitely heard a lot about it. If you get a chance to visit Milano and join for aperitivo, let me know in a comment how your experience was!
